Request a Child or Adolescent Evaluation

If you are concerned about your child’s development, communication, attention, learning, behavior, social interaction, or emotional well-being, you are welcome to submit an evaluation request.

You do not need to know which type of evaluation your child needs before reaching out. Provide some general information about your concerns, and Dr. McDermott will review your request and contact you to discuss whether an evaluation may be appropriate, current availability, and possible next steps.

Submitting this form does not commit your family to scheduling an evaluation and does not guarantee an appointment.

What Happens Next

After receiving your request, Dr. McDermott will review the information you provided and contact you using your preferred method.

If the practice appears able to address your family’s questions, the next step may be an initial parent meeting conducted through telehealth. During that meeting, Dr. McDermott will learn more about your child’s history, current strengths and challenges, and the questions you hope the evaluation will answer.

She will then recommend an individualized evaluation process, explain the anticipated fees, and discuss scheduling. In-person assessment appointments take place at McDermott Psychological’s office at The Rotunda in Baltimore’s Hampden neighborhood.

Important Information

McDermott Psychological is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly.
