Evaluation Fees and Payment Information
McDermott Psychological offers evaluations for a predetermined fee based on the type of evaluation and the child’s age. Before an evaluation is scheduled, Dr. McDermott will explain the recommended assessment process, what it will include, and the applicable fee.
Evaluation fees generally range from $1,800 to $3,000.
Autism Evaluations

Mental Health Diagnostic Evaluations
Mental health diagnostic evaluations may address concerns involving anxiety, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, mood, behavior, emotional regulation, or other aspects of psychological functioning.

Psychoeducational Diagnostic Evaluations
Psychoeducational evaluations include cognitive and academic assessment tailored to the child’s educational needs and the questions being explored.

What the Evaluation Fee Includes
Evaluation services generally include:

An initial telehealth intake appointment with the parent or caregiver

An individualized in-person assessment appointment

Review of relevant developmental, medical, and educational records

Consultation with educators or other healthcare providers when appropriate and with parental permission

A telehealth feedback appointment

A written report documenting the evaluation findings and personalized recommendations

Payment Information
McDermott Psychological accepts cash, checks, and all major credit and debit cards.
The recommended evaluation process and total fee will be explained before scheduling so that families can understand the anticipated cost before deciding whether to proceed.
Insurance and Out-of-Network Reimbursement
McDermott Psychological is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance companies directly. Depending on the family’s health plan, however, some evaluation services may qualify for partial reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.
After full payment, families receive a detailed superbill containing the information needed to submit a reimbursement request to their insurance company. Coverage and reimbursement depend on the individual health plan and cannot be guaranteed.
